Sunshine on my shoulders and barefoot in the grass

This warmer,  sunnier weather is doing me the world of good as it always does.  I've often joked that they need to do sunny holidays on prescription,  but speaking to my Perrin practitioner today confirmed it. The sun offers pain relief and reduces inflammation. She said she feels that people with ME/Fibromyalgia would benefit from a sunny holiday during winter to boost their stores.  Sign me up for that! Anyone want to donate to the holiday fund?  ;)
She also mentioned Earthing. To explain it I've copied the description from the book 'Earthing : The most important health discovery ever?' by Clinton Ober , Stephen Sinatra M. D and Martin Zuckerberg
"Throughout most of evolution humans walked barefoot and slept on the ground, largely oblivious to the fact that the surface of the Earth contains limitless healing energy. Science has discovered this energy as free-flowing electrons constantly replenished by solar radiation and lightning strikes. Few people know it, but the ground provides a subtle electric signal that maintains health and governs the intricate mechanisms that make our bodies work just like plugging a lamp into a power socket makes it light up. Modern lifestyles, including the widespread use of insulative rubber or plastic soled shoes, has disconnected us from this energy and, of course, we no longer sleep on the ground as we did in times past. EARTHING describes how this physical disconnection from the Earth creates abnormal physiology and contributes to inflammation, pain, fatigue, stress and poor sleep, and how by reconnecting to the Earth symptoms are rapidly relieved and even eliminated."

I've not always been one for alternative therapies,  but when my practitioner left me with these orders 'spend at least one hour in the sun everyday and spend time with your bare feet on the grass or sand'  I thought it was definitely worth a shot! And if it works,  it's a double bonus! :)
