Knitting

Bonnie is a great friend to MEcuperate.  She also has an amazing talent for knitting.  She creates a lot of wonderful things with her knitting needles and knitting helps her cope with living with ME/CFS.  Her experiences are inspiring and I enjoy reading the blog she shares with us,  Crafty Chat. She also has a lovely shop on Etsy,  where you can buy her fabulous creations.
I'm very thankful Bonnie agreed to give us more insight into knitting and why she does it.

How long have you been knitting for?
I have been knitting since the age of 3 so that's 32 years - eek! I remember sitting on the sofa with my mum when i was so small my legs didn't reach over the edge of the sofa but oh how i loved my little blue knitting needles!

What made you start?
My mum was taught to knit by her mum when she was about 3 years old too so its sort of a family thing that you learn as soon as you can. Who could grow up surrounded by yarn and not want to have a go and create!

Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to take up knitting?
Just go for it! Don't expect perfection straight away, it comes with time and a lot of practice. start off small and be proud of what you make, even if it has holes in or is wonky, it is your achievement. Grab some needles, yarn and head for You Tube or your local yarn shop and you will soon get the hang of it.
